Who might consider eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty)?

For both men & women 30–65 y.o.

For busy professionals, parents, and retirees who want a younger, refreshed look — without NHS delays or UK prices.

When creams fail and makeup can’t hide it anymore

Tired of people asking if you’re exhausted — even when you’re not?

Burning eyes, blurred vision, pressure from your glasses?

These are often caused by excess skin pulling down the eyelids. A quick outpatient procedure can remove the strain — so you can see comfortably again.

Your eyes will finally match how young you feel inside.

After eyelid surgery, patients often say they look 10–15 years younger — with a brighter gaze, smoother eyelids, and lighter expression. Some even notice clearer vision as drooping lids no longer weigh them down.

In and out the same day.

The procedure is done under local anaesthesia — no hospital stay, no long recovery, no stress.

One quick procedure

Results that stay with you for over a decade. Most clients don’t even consider a touch-up for 10 to 15 years.

How do you get rid of puffy eyes?

Coming from the UK? Here’s your timeline:

Day 1: Arrive in Prague, rest
Day 2: Surgery (local anaesthesia, no hospital stay)
Day 3–4: Light recovery. Stay in Prague for 2–3 days, enjoy the city (gently)
Day 4–5: Fly home
Day 7–14: Most swelling disappears, stitches removed (can be done locally or with your GP)
Week 4: Full recovery — refreshed and confident

Before the surgery

A consultation with the doctor gives the patient the opportunity to “open their eyes” to many unfamiliar terms and learn everything about the upcoming procedure.

The surgeon performing the operation will explain in detail the expected changes in appearance.
In addition to the main consultation, the patient must undergo mandatory preoperative examinations and tests.

A surgical process

Before starting the surgery, the specialist marks the area as a guide for the incisions.

A local anaesthesia is administered to relieve pain. The surgeon makes the incision, removes excess skin and fat to improve eyelid contour.
The finest sutures, known as intradermal stitches, are then applied, ensuring minimal visible scarring.

After the surgery

To ease swelling & bruising, cooling pads are used during the first 2-3 days after the procedure. All symptoms typically disappear within 5–6 days, but returning to work is usually possible only after one week.
Stitches are removed after 7–14 days. Final results become visible in 4-6 weeks. In 3-6 months is the full recovery, the scars continue to fade.

Reviews

“I am three months post eyelid surgery. The result is perfect. All issues like heavy eyelids, tired eyes, and frequent headaches are now a thing of the past. MD Prochazkova from the BEAUTYSHAPE is a true expert in her field. I highly recommend the pleasant clinic environment and the professional approach of the doctor and nurses. Thank you.”
Lenka

“I have chosen Beautyshape Clinic in Prague and the doctor based on recommendations and experiences from my friends. I underwent upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty and have been satisfied with the results from the very first moment. The doctor and her team are very professional. From the first communication via emails (I always received a response within a few hours) to the postoperative care, I knew I was in good hands 🙂 I can only recommend BEAUTYSHAPE Clinic!””
Dominika

“I hesitated for seven years before deciding on upper eyelid surgery. This year, my husband gave me the procedure as a birthday gift. Before the operation, I was nervous, but doctor and the nurse eased all my worries. The surgery was painless, and I had no issues during the healing process. Thank you, you are a top-notch clinic!””
Alice

“Some time ago, I noticed significant swelling under my eyes, even though there was no swelling in my face. I was told that it was a cosmetic issue (at first, I thought it was a health problem and underwent the necessary medical examination). I consulted a clinic, and after the blefa, the problem disappeared. I am sincerely grateful.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions UK patients ask before travelling to Prague for eyelid surgery. Click on a question to reveal the answer.

How long after the surgery can I return to my normal daily life?

Recovery happens in 4 stages:

Stage 1 (0–48 hours): Swelling and bruising peak; cold compresses recommended. Activities such as reading, using a computer, or watching TV are not allowed during this time.
Stage 2 (6–14 days): Bruising fades; stitches are removed. You may resume normal activities, including work, but avoid heavy exertion.
Stage 3 (4–6 weeks): Final results start becoming visible. After the first month after surgery, you can start sports.
Stage 4 (3–6 months): Full recovery with scars continuing to fade.

I am travelling to your clinic by plane, what would be the optimal itinerary? For how long do I need to stay in Prague before I can take a return flight?

We recommend to arrive 1 night before the surgery and stay minimum 2 nights after the surgery date in Prague. 0-48 Hours Swelling & bruising peak; cold compress recommended.
If you can stay longer, Prague has a lot of sightseeing opportunities plus after 7 days for upper blepharoplasty stitches could be removed in our clinic for free.
Recommendations for the flight:
✔ Drink plenty of water (to avoid dehydration).
✔ Use eye drops (artificial tears).
✔ Avoid alcohol and coffee before the flight.
✔ Do light exercises and move around during the flight.
✔ Sleep in an upright position if possible.

Is the price all-inclusive?

Yes. Our prices include consultation, surgery, anesthesia, aftercare, and follow-up appointments. There are no hidden fees.

When can I go out in the sun, swim, exercise, or use the sauna after surgery?

Your eyes should be kept completely at rest for 2–3 days. Activities such as reading, using a computer, or watching TV are not allowed during this time. For one week, it is advisable to avoid bending forward and any strenuous physical activity. We also recommend sleeping on your back for about 2 weeks. During the first month after surgery, it is best to avoid sports, as increased blood flow and excessive heat in the operated area are not beneficial for proper healing.

Do the stitches dissolve on their own, or do they need to be removed?

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is performed using only non-absorbable stitches. Why is that? The eyelids are stitched either with a continuous stitch or an intradermal (internal) stitch to ensure that the resulting scar is not visible. Absorbable stitches cannot be used for this reason. The stitches are usually removed after 6 to 14 days. Another reason is that the eyelids are constantly in motion, so the stitches must withstand this movement to achieve the best possible result.

Will I need any medical tests before the surgery?

Yes, we require pre-operative tests such as blood work and sometimes an ECG. These can be done in the UK

Do I need to stop smoking or avoid certain medications before surgery?

Yes. We recommend quitting smoking at least two weeks before and after surgery. Blood-thinning medications should also be avoided unless approved by your surgeon.

How do I book a consultation if I’m in the UK?

You can book a FREE online consultation. We’ll review your photos, discuss your goals, and create a tailored treatment plan before you travel.

Is the surgery painful?

Blepharoplasty is performed under local anesthesia with sedation. Most patients experience only mild discomfort, which can be managed with medication.

Can I bring a companion with me?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member for support during your stay.
